You get what you wish for? When we study success we find that there is a reality that exists that most people do not understand or realize, A Secret. In the video that follows we find out about The Secret. Just what is "The Secret"? Very simply it is the Law of Attraction. There is the old joke that opposites attract, but in reality we tend to attract the kind of life and people that we expect to attract.

Laws of Attraction

Think about the circumstances of the lives around us. It seems like a secret, but in reality we realize that the Laws of Attraction are at work in our lives and everyone we know. Have you ever known anyone that keeps getting into relationships in which the new spouse is just as abusive as the old one? The person who attracts the abusive partner needs to readjust priorities and learn to attract a better partner. As Dr. Phil likes to say, "How's that working for you?"

Knowing and understanding "The Secret" allows us to make changes in our lives that will allow the attraction of the things we really want, money, power, success, quality friends and business mentors. They are all ours if we will just give ourselves a little attitude adjustment.

How To Build a High Traffic Website

I wrote this article "How To Build A High Traffic Website." The info in the article will be useful to anyone that is interested in building a large internet business. I had actually forgotten about this article but was reminded of it by an email that I received earlier today. The writer, a connection on Linkedin, wanted to know why I was still building sites using Web 2.0 technology. My short answer is that because the market demands it.

I read an article recently that talked about search engine optimization being a thing of the past and the best thing to concentrate on is social networking. There will always be some new best thing that marketers will tout as the greatest technology that abolishes all previous technologies. The truth is it is all about driving traffic, either to a particular website or page, period. Use good search engine optimization techniques in building your website and pages. Then use good link building strategies and build a following on the social networks.

If you want to "Build a High Traffic Website" read as much as you can on SEO, Search Engine Optimization and social networking. Then get to work. You will not build a high traffic website playing video games and watching porn!

Building a large online social network.

I have been talking to a few other people involved with network marketing lately about building their social networks online. People involved with network marketing come from a variety of backgrounds, but a common theme with many is that they are not really educated on how to build an online social network.

First let me say that in at least one respect it is similar to building any other type of social network. In order to get anywhere, establish good connections, you must have credibility. In network marketing you always hear the stories of some guy that was only in the program two weeks, two months or some other short amount of time and started making an extraordinary income. Now that's fantastic, but really not the usual story. Network marketing affords a person to earn an enormous amount of money, especially in respect to the amount of monetary investment, yet earning that money does not come overnight.

Social networking is the same, you can build a large social network, it takes time and it is work. Oh No! Not that dreaded four letter word, work! LOL

So basically I decided to start this thread to talk about building a large social network. Any questions you have shoot them my way and I will get the answers to you. I specialize in two networks, Linkedin and Twitter. I don't really mess around with all of the other social networking sites. If you can manage more than those two, more power to you. As I write this I have close to 5,000 connections between all of my different Twitter accounts and Linkedin. Twitter grows daily and on Linkedin I get 100 plus connection requests each week. In order to manage these accounts and effectively work with my connections, I don't have time for Facebook and all of the other sites that have popped up.

Social Aspects Of Social Networking

Social Networking
I was reading a Twitter posting this morning by a connection from Linkedin. The posting was about how my Linkedin friend was sending personal messages to anyone that asked to become connected to her. My friend is a consultant and since recently starting to do this, she has had three requests for consultation. This started me thinking about the social aspects of social networking. It seems many people understand that networking is a valuable tool for building a business, yet they forget that there is a social aspect to the social networking.

Which would you prefer? Two thousand followers on Twitter, most of whom never bothered to find out who you are or two hundred followers on Twitter, most of whom you have had some type of a conversation with. Two hundred people that you do some socializing with will probably be a more valuable tool for building a business than two thousand that don't even remember you have some type of connection.

I got my start with social networking, for the most part. on Linkedin. I did have a Facebook and Myspace account prior to opening the Linkedin account, but did not really use those accounts much or do any real social networking. I started getting involved with Linkedin and really started wanting to build a social network. I became an open networker, a person that, for the most part, accepts anyone else as a connection. It did not take long to start getting invitations to join other social networks and social networking sites. A couple of times I did, but unless you want to be a professional social networker, how many social networking sites can you effectively work and be productive? For me the answer is, not many.

The statement I read this morning about 'sending a personal note' to those requesting a connection really got me to thinking. My objective to being on social networking sites like Twitter and Linkedin is to build my business. Right now on my biggest Twitter account I am nearing 2000 followers, I am at over 1500 connections on Linkedin. If I send an announcement to all of these people, how many of them do you suppose will follow the link in the announcement.

I think we need to socialize, we need to really work the social aspect of social networking. As a business person we all have schedules we have to keep. Most might schedule a certain time to work on social networking. I think I am going to start working harder at not just building a lot of connections, but improving the quality of relationship I have with those connections.
